Meet the TRACE

T R A C E

GRIND TRACE is a multi-purpose gravel platform combining adventure capability with performance-oriented design. It is intended for a wide range of riding scenarios, including bikepacking, gravel racing, and everyday training.

With multiple mounting points and integrated frame storage, it supports efficient gear distribution across various bag setups, as well as compatibility with racks and fenders. By fitting large tires while remaining light and responsive, it allows for both extended bikepacking use and fast, aggressive gravel riding.

At its core is a lightweight, high-strength carbon frame designed around modern standards, including 50 mm tire clearance, UDH compatibility, a T47 bottom bracket, and an integrated carbon handlebar.

FAQ

What's included with the frameset?

Everything you need to start building your bike is included. With the frameset, you get:

  • Frame, fork, seatpost, handlebar, computer mount
  • Headset
  • Thru axles
  • All required accessories, including spacers, cable stops, guides, and mounts for different groupsets

Do you offer bike fitting or sizing consultation?

Yes. We work with our local bike fitter, Łukasz Kot from Bidon.cc in Tarnów, who offers both sizing consultations and full bike fitting. For general sizing recommendations, you can also check our Size Guide.

How long do I have to wait for my bike?

All of our builds and painting are made to order, so it takes a little time, usually 6-8 weeks. Sometimes it’s faster, but never longer. We promise, it’s worth the wait!

Is it possible to have a more complex paint design?

Yes. All of our bikes are custom painted, and we can create more complex designs with special effects, extra graphics, and multiple colors. Since each project varies in complexity and time required, we provide a quote after hearing more about your idea.

Can you choose parts outside the GrindLab?

Yes. Every bike we build is custom, and we can work with parts from a wide range of manufacturers, including niche options. GrindLab only shows the most popular and trusted parts to give you inspiration and an idea of pricing. If you have something specific in mind or want a fully custom build, just get in touch with us via email or the contact form.

How many mounting points does the Trace have?

In total, there are 21 mounting bolts. The Trace supports various bag setups, bottle cage mounting points, as well as fenders and racks.

What’s the tire clearance?

The official tire clearance is 700x50, which we recommend for mixed and muddy conditions as it leaves enough room for mud and dirt. In drier conditions, the Trace can fit 2.1 or even 2.2 MTB tires in some cases.

Where are the frames manufactured?

Our frames are made in China at well-established, trusted, and high-quality factories (Carbonda, TanTan). The painting and final assembly are done locally here in Poland.

What bearings are used for the headset?

The Trace headset uses IS52 bearings both top and bottom. The bearing dimensions are 40x52x7 mm (45x45°).

What is the seatpost offset?

By default, the seatpost has a 0 mm offset. It uses a standard 27.2 mm diameter, so you can also choose an offset seatpost from other manufacturers if you prefer.

Is it possible to use 140 mm rotors?

Yes. The Trace can use both 140 mm and 160 mm rotors.

Is it possible to use a mechanical groupset on the Trace?

Yes, it’s possible. That said, we usually recommend electronic groupsets with the fully integrated cockpit, as a mechanical setup can make maintenance trickier and performance less smooth. For mechanical groupsets, we recommend a semi-internal routing with cables exiting under the stem.

Are the logos painted or decals?

By default, all of our logos are painted. If you want a special effect like chrome, brushed steel, or very small, intricate graphics that can’t be painted, just let us know and we can make it happen.
